My Full Name

John Richard Lloyd-Hughes

My Skool Community Name

Skool Owners Network

Brief Personal Background

Born in the UK I had a very good beginning with amazing parents and enjoyable school days so my childhood was great. Hobbies included tennis, golf and later snooker when my father introduced to a local snooker club. Not golfing any more but just about to explore padel tennis so I will keep you posted!

Brief Professional Background

I spent most of my career working in marketing and advertising which I thoroughly enjoyed and was a pretty amazing place to be at times! That evolved into running business networking groups and more recently hosting a series of business expo events in the UK. I now live in Southern Spain with my Spanish wife so am 99% retired but wanted to do something that involved communicating with people.

How did you discover Skool?

I was looking at creating some type of community where I could use my experience in bringing people together so spent a lot of time researching how best to execute something which led me to Skool.

What inspired you to start your Skool community?

After investigating it closer it seemed to be different, more open, friendly and supportive so I started a community. All I will say is that my research has been validated. The Skool platform is genuinely a refreshing change and fits my personality perfectly. Giving is in my DNA.

What transformation do your members experience?

Skool is extremely intuitive to use but running a community is not easy. The biggest issue is getting your community known as 99% of Skool communities do not allow you to promote your own community so I wanted to change that. The Skool Owners Network was created specifically to allow community owners to shout from the rooftops about their own Skool community and I have recently created a dedicated website at www.skoolownersnetwork.com to give members further exposure to their target audience outside of Skool. This new section called Meet the Skoolers has only just gone live and really it’s about helping others make connections on a person to person basis.

Who is your ideal community member?

Anyone who is a Skool community owner, whether they have 5 or 5000 members.

What's one unexpected lesson you've learned from running your community?

Honestly, it’s the genuine nature of the people on Skool. It’s not hype. It’s real.

If someone is considering joining your community, what would you tell them?

Simple. If you are running a community read the About page of Skool Owners Network.

We will get your community noticed on Skool AND in front of your target audience in the public domain.
