Brief Personal Background
I’m just a gal from Alaska who loves food. I love gardening, real books, art, design, and board games. I love sitting and chatting with friends over a good cup of coffee or home cooked meal. I am semi-retired and just looking to spread the love.
Brief Professional Background
I have 40+ years of food knowledge. I started cooking when I was a child. Growing up on a homestead, everyone pitched in. I am self-taught, but have inherited a love of all things foodie along with all the cookbooks and knowledge my parents could pass down.
How did you discover Skool?
I discovered skool while on Facebook. It seemed like a new platform with great opportunity to share my love of food.
What inspired you to start your Skool community?
I used to have a food blog for years. The interaction was minimal though. With skool, I get to interact with my members. It gives me the opportunity to help them with what they need most instead of guessing what might help.
What transformation do your members experience?
My skool isn’t here to transform anyone, it is a place to share and connect over the love of food, a universal language.
Who is your ideal community member?
Our ideal members post, answer each other’s questions, and tell their friends to come hang out with us. We encourage everyone, novice to chef to have a part.
What's one unexpected lesson you've learned from running your community?
I learned less is more to begin with. Just start, add value based on what your members are asking for. Don’t assume you know what they want.
If someone is considering joining your community, what would you tell them?
Bring your appetites, a sense of humor, be ready to have some fun, learn a bit about all thing’s foodie, and jump in.
