Brief Personal Background
I’m a Los Angeles native who began modeling at a young age and spent much of my early career working internationally, including in Japan during the 1980s. My life journey has taken me through many chapters of the entertainment industry and eventually into photography. Today I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned and helping others discover their own path in creative industries.
Brief Professional Background
I’m a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience specializing in model portfolios, actor headshots, and professional images for people entering the entertainment industry. Through my work, I help aspiring models and actors create images that represent their identity and open doors to opportunities. My goal is to combine real industry experience with practical guidance for the next generation.
How did you discover Skool?
I discovered Skool through my best friend of over 30 years, who introduced me to the platform and encouraged me to explore building a community here.
What inspired you to start your Skool community?
I started Photography by Cristal to help my local Los Angeles community of aspiring models and actors understand how the industry works and how to build strong portfolios and professional images. I also created Memoir School as a place where I could write my memoir live in real time—completely unedited and unfiltered—sharing behind-the-scenes stories from Hollywood, modeling, and acting in the 1980s.
What transformation do your members experience?
Members can go from never having taken professional photos to developing a polished portfolio and professional images that truly represent who they are. These images can help them submit to casting, agencies, and opportunities with confidence.
Who is your ideal community member?
For Photography by Cristal, my ideal members are aspiring models and actors who want real guidance about building portfolios and navigating the industry. For Memoir School, my community includes Gen X readers interested in what it was like to grow up in the 80s, as well as people curious about behind-the-scenes stories from Hollywood and international modeling.
