Brief Personal Background
I am a primary school teacher here in the UK. I am a mum to my son who is 11 years old and at high school we also have a cat and a beautiful labradoodle puppy who we walk in the local park. I have always had a love of craft and art and I between all my single mum responsibilities, I like painting soft watercolour scenes from the kitchen table.
Brief Professional Background
I started my career as a nursery nurse and then got jobs working with special needs children. Then at the age of 30 decided to complete my teacher training. I have been a primary school teacher for 14 years now and although I love the children and have a true passion for teaching, I was diagnosed with diabetes type 1 in 2020 and it has made me realise that I will not be able to teach until retirement.
How did you discover Skool?
I discovered Skool just last year. As I was introduced to An Etsy Millionaire! I then started to look around at other Skool communities and learned how I could make digital products. This included Clipart, Event stationery, planners, junk journaling and scrapbooking.
What inspired you to start your Skool community?
I have learnt so much about creating digital produces and how to sell them on Etsy. But I felt that some mentors do not always give you the whole picture. I wanted to bridge the gap between growing a shop and designing high quality printable products. As a busy single mum I want to teach mums how to make an extra income stream around their lives.
What transformation do your members experience?
I help professional women, busy mums, and creative women move from making digital products to confidently starting and growing an Etsy business, creating a sustainable income stream they’re proud of and that supports their family and lifestyle.
Who is your ideal community member?
My ideal community member is a professional woman, busy mum, or creative who wants to or already has an Etsy business but feels unsure about the process or direction. She’s motivated, values flexibility and creativity, and is looking for clear guidance and supportive accountability as she grows.
What's one unexpected lesson you've learned from running your community?
I honestly never expected my group to grow so fast. I am not talking numbers but the engagement and support with this community is literally outstanding.
If someone is considering joining your community, what would you tell them?
I am not guru. I am taking the journey with you. I am rebuilding one of my shops from scratch and I hope that you will join me in do the same.
